ヒンデロ−ペン村の伝統工芸品で、１７世紀頃スカンジナビア地方から伝えられたものです。色彩は当時オランダの植民地であったインドネシアの影響を受けています。昔からの手塗りのスタイルで、ヒンデロ−ペン村独自の様式を保ち、今ではオランダで最も有名な生活伝統工芸品とされています
